Hi everyone! Back again, this time with a review for something more recently released: the Tarteist Pro Palette by Tarte Cosmetics.
I bought this palette in late January 2017 and it lived up to my expectations and more. It has 16 matte shadows and 4 shimmers/metals. The matte shadows are very soft, but very powdery - this creates lots of fallout, but if you're smart with the brush (and not in a hurry) you can go back and pick up the fallout and make the most of it. They are so pigmented that you literally only need to tap your brush onto the shadow to cover your brush in colour. Because they're so easy to pick up, I also find them a little more difficult to blend than most other shadows. If you make sure you have a powder base on your eyelids before you start, you'll find blending a lot easier (you can always use any of the shades from the first column as a multipurpose base). The metal shades are the opposite - very difficult to pick up on the brush, and I find them to be a lot more translucent than the mattes.

The palette is designed with 4 colour schemes in mind: highlight, lid, crease, liner, and shimmer (from first to last shade in each row). I found this really helpful, but I still mix-and-match the shades from the whole palette, especially the shade "Glam" - I find I use this one almost every time I pick up the palette, as an inner-corner/brow-bone highlight. Tip: use setting spray or a little bit of water on the end of your brush to pick up the metal shades a bit easier.
This palette has every colour you'd ever want for a neutral look, although the shadows are still super pigmented and vibrant. The entire colour scheme is perfect for me, because I love cool-toned shades, and that describes the majority of these shadows - it's really just the first row that are warm-tones, but I still find myself using them occasionally.

This is a look I made using only the top row of shadows, with "Classic" all over the lid as the base, "Innocent" in the crease, "Whimsy" all over the lid, "Smoked" in the outer corner, and "Ethereal" as the liner. (Tip: you can create a liquid liner from any eyeshadow by mixing it with a drop of micellar water!)
My favourite shadow: it's a tough decision between "Fierce" and "Profesh" - I love these mauves, and they're so pretty on the lid and in the crease!
My least favourite shadow: definitely "Punk" - I don't think I've ever used this shadow, to be honest. It's just so dark (read: pure black), and I'm too scared to go all-in with the black and not be able to blend it out properly (or correct it if I make a mistake).

If you're looking for an all-in-one palette to cover ALL your neutral looks, definitely add this one to your collection. The shadows are easy to use, (fairly) easy to blend, and so pigmented that you'll probably never need to worry about hitting pan (in that respect, it's definitely worth the $83 AUD price tag).
Final verdict: 4.5/5 stars.
Thanks for reading, and God bless!
