Mini Haul: BYS Cosmetics

Welcome back! (This post was delayed because I was moving house during the long weekend here in Aus, so I apologise xxx)
A couple weeks ago I placed and received an order with BYS Cosmetics, so I've decided to do some swatches for you guys to show you my mini haul. I ordered a small eyeshadow palette, a small brow palette, 4 lipsticks, and a make up sponge set.

This is the eyeshadow palette, called the "5 Palette Eyeshadow: Mod Brights", and it goes for $4.95 AUD. The colours are so nice, the pigmentation is amazing, and they blend out really nice also.

All the shades have a really nice, subtle shimmer to them. I used the green shade in my eyelid crease for a pop of colour in an otherwise monochromatic black and grey look, and it lit up the whole look. This palette gave me a pretty fantastic first impression, and for $5, I was blown away.
The next thing I picked up is the brow palette, called the "Brow Powder Trio: Bold Brows", which is $6.95 AUD. Let me just start out by saying that this mini palette has replaced my ColourPop Brow Pot in terms of how-fast-can-I-get-ready-in-the-morning-and-still-look-nice, which is pretty impressive.

The formula is really nice and creamy; it's very soft and can easily be built-up. There's a little fall-out but that doesn't bother me. I find that with a nice angled brush I can fill in my brows within 2 minutes.
Next: the lipsticks. From left to right: "Pretty Little Thing", "Fuchsia Surprise", "Sparkle Baby", and "Champagne Rain". Priced at $3.95 AUD each, these are excellent value. Some of the shades ("Champagne Rain", I'm looking at you) take a few coats to get the colour to be solid enough, but the others seem mostly okay. The colours came in a range of finishes, but unfortunately the BYS website didn't provide any information about each individual colour (finish, description of the colour, etc), but at $3.95 I was happy to just go for it.

The last thing I bought was the "Beauty Sponge Kit", which in all honesty exceeded my expectations by about 1000%. I've been lucking out with beauty sponges recently, as I've always seen the Original Beauty Blender as overpriced, so I've been resorting to eBay and other quick-order sites to try and find a cheap alternative (THAT WORKS). So far, the most successful thing I found was from the Aldi Supermarket, but their stock changes every week, and by the time I realised how amazing the sponge was it was already off the shelves. This sponge set was $12.95 AUD, and it was definitely worth it. It came with two full-sized sponges and two tiny ones, with a classic tear-drop shape and the wiggly shape in both sizes.

(The above pic is from the BYS website (www.bys.com.au) as my set is currently at my old house.)
All the sponges expand when wet to about 140% of their original size, and they are all very soft and versatile to use. The make up washes out fairly easily, but the light pink one is slightly stained ( although I must admit I used it for concealer when I was in a hurry so didn't wet it first).
My final verdict: these products exceeded my expectations so much, and a lot of them I'm now using daily (the sponges and the brow palette).
Eyeshadow palette: 3.8 out of 5 stars
Brow palette: 4.5 out of 5 stars
Lipsticks: 3 out of 5 stars
Sponges: 4.5 out of 5 stars!
Thanks for reading, and God bless!
